Repair My Credit Now – Two Sure Fire Ways To Repair Credit Quickly

“How do I Repair My Credit Now?”  I was laid off in early 07.  Not the best way to start the year but it happened.  As we all know the economy was starting to loosen and unfortunately the company I was working for was feeling the pinch.  It was easier to close the shop and move on, for the company owner anyway.  My credit took the hit as the months of unemployment ran out and bills started to fall behind.

I found employment soon after my unemployment ran out but the damage had already been done to my credit report.  I had to look for a way to repair my credit now, as soon as possible.  I wanted out of that financial hole.  I took maters into my own hands and started the process.

I bought a manual on credit and started to repair my credit myself.  I didn’t exactly know what I was doing but there were two techniques I got to know pretty well, while reviewing all the information I had.

One I used to dispute collection companies was to have them show proof that they could conduct business in my state.  I didn’t know they actually had to carry insurance, a bond and have a license.  Luckily, in my state they had to carry it.  What I found out was that it’s common for the collection company to have it in the home state but many times don’t have them filled properly outside of that state.  The cost can be high.  That’s how I got one.  Having them remove it and stop all their collection efforts was great.  As if they never existed.  I negotiated with another collection company to pay it at 45% of what I owed and have them give me a deletion letter.   Which they did, that was also removed from my history.

To continue repairing my credit, I used a tactic that showed me how another person’s good credit can boost My Credit Score.  I have a sister with excellent credit, who helped me out and added me as an authorized user on the card.  This gave me more good accounts than bad and helped balance out the one account I was still working on to remove or settle for a deletion letter.

All this Credit Repair stuff happened in a three to four month window.  Instead of worrying about how to repair my credit, now I look for ways to increase my knowledge of credit.  That’s what helped me the most.  You can’t always know what’s going to happen in the future.  I had no way of seeing where our company was heading.  But I can always be educated about a subject.
